Rise 360 is the perfect way to create an interactive training module for learners to take on the go, at their desk, or on their tablet.

Trauma Informed Care Training Series

Trauma Informed Care Part 1

I was asked to take on the task of revamping the asynchronous portions of the Trauma-Informed Training Series. When I was given this project, the DCS team had recently undergone a large overhaul in terms of approved language, policy updates, and personnel changes. I was tasked with a 2-week turnaround per training so that they could carry on training these classes as soon as possible. Trauma-informed care is a two-part training series that contains four educational pieces.

Participants begin by taking the virtual portion of Trauma Informed Care 1 (found here), which helps all learners come to the live training with a shared background knowledge. This virtual training helps to prime the learner for the in-class portion by giving them definitions (using interactive flash cards), necessary resources (found with easy-to-use links), and an interactive scenario matching game, which can be found in the “Understanding the Types” section of Trauma Informed Care Part 1.

After participants have completed the asynchronous portion of Trauma Informed Care Part 1, they would then enroll in the live portion of the training to gain a deeper understanding of the content. Following the conclusion of the live portion of Trauma Informed Care Part 1, the learner would enroll in the next class in the series, which is the asynchronous portion of Trauma Informed Care Part 2.

Trauma Informed Care Part 2

Trauma-Informed Care Part 2 is an asynchronous training that builds upon the live portion of Part 1. The primary objective of this course is for learners to gain a deeper understanding of how caregivers can address trauma and support children in their growth and healing.

This course contains interactive knowledge checks throughout, expandable definitions, and interactive scenario situations. The star of this training series would be the “choose your path” style of scenario that helps the learner understand what it is like to be a Family Case Manager approaching a family in need of assistance. The scenario can be found in the “Intervetion Generated Risk – A Scenario“. This training wraps up with a video and test to prep learners for their final live portion.

Human Trafficking 101

Human Trafficking 101 is a new worker training for all employees at my company. The employees for this company are often the first line of defense for identifying and saving children from human trafficking.

This research based training program includes facts, statistics, and information that is backed by decades of research. I used interactive features such as collapsible fields, images, knowledge checks and more to keep learners engaged for better knowledge retainment. This training has a quiz at the end which requires a score of 80% or higher for the completion certificate to be granted.

This training was on a quick turnaround as we updated existing trainings and implemented new ones, following the executive orders rolled out in 2025.

Intensive Foster Care Services

This project came across my desk with a three-week to launch timeline. The state of Indiana was rolling out a new program for youths and children in foster care who need a little bit more support to be successful. The subject matter expert (SME) and I met, and he conveyed to me how crucial this new program was to the state and the resource parents who bring children into their homes. After the initial meeting with the SME, where I gathered all of the essential information, I set out to create the Rise 360 training module.

I began by creating the outline of the project, then created icons (the Department of Child Services graphic of choice) using Adobe Illustrator. I moved on to creating scenarios for participants to read through and practice using their new knowledge in a real-life experience. I wrapped the course up with a knowledge check to ensure that participants absorbed the content that will benefit so many Hoosier families and children.
